To help new immigrants improve communication skills and gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture, Kaohsiung will host the “Practical Taiwanese for Daily Life” course on June 20. The program combines language learning with cultural experiences to support new immigrants and their family members in adapting to local life.
Course topics include basic Taiwanese pronunciation, commonly used daily conversations, vocabulary and sentence practice, family member titles, as well as popular Taiwanese idioms, slang expressions, and proverbs. Participants will learn practical language skills through real-life situations.
The course will also introduce the names of traditional clothing from different countries in Taiwanese and provide opportunities to experience multicultural costumes, encouraging cultural exchange and mutual understanding among participants.
In addition, Taiwanese songs will be taught as part of the program to make language learning more engaging and enjoyable. Family members of new immigrants, especially male family members, are encouraged to join the activities together.
The course is free of charge and limited to 25 participants. It will be held at the Kaohsiung New Immigrant Cultural and Creative Arts Association. Interested new immigrants and their families are encouraged to register early. Registration link: https://reurl.cc/3kVmaL
