Another major summer event is coming to Kaohsiung. The 2026 Taiwan-Japan Harbor Fruit Festival will take place on Aug. 1-2 at the Sea Breeze Plaza of the Kaohsiung Music Center, bringing together more than 100 booths and representatives from 11 Japanese cities with close ties to Kaohsiung.

Now in its third year, the festival focuses on fruits and food culture from Taiwan and Japan. Visitors can sample seasonal fruits, local delicacies and regional specialties while exploring agricultural products, tourism resources and local culture from both sides.

Besides the fruit and food market, the festival will feature stage performances, talks by young farmers, KOL activities and fruit-themed games. Participating Japanese cities will also showcase regional products, cultural displays and tourism information.

Ahead of the event, organizers released a promotional video using popular social media transition effects with fruits and signature foods from Taiwan and Japan. The festival aims to connect agriculture, tourism and cultural exchange while offering another summer attraction in Kaohsiung.
