Spring has arrived, bringing blooming cherry blossoms to the northern coast of New Taipei City. Sanzhi District, an important destination along the “Youth Mountain and Sea Line,” attracts many visitors each year during the cherry blossom season. Among the most popular locations is the Sansheng Trail, where cherry blossoms are now gradually blooming.
According to the New Taipei City Landscape Department, more than 500 Showa and Yoshino cherry trees are planted along the trail. Showa cherry blossoms have currently reached about 30–50 percent bloom and are expected to last until the end of March. Yoshino cherry blossoms will follow in mid-March. The walking path winds through farmland and streams, creating a scenic spring landscape.
After viewing the cherry blossoms, visitors can head to Fugui Fishing Harbor to enjoy fresh seafood. Many restaurants there offer cooking services for seafood selected on site. In the afternoon, visitors can continue to Fugui Cape Lighthouse Trail, Zhilan Park Ocean Observation Platform, Qianshui Bay, or the Shuangwan Bikeway to enjoy the open coastal scenery. The latest cherry blossom updates are available on the “Flower Viewing Cherry Blossom Festival” website or the “Flower Viewing Express” Facebook.
