As the winter break and Lunar New Year holidays approach, many parents are considering how to plan trips that balance learning and fun for their children during the long vacation. The Ministry of Education has integrated national social education institutions under its jurisdiction and collaborated with the National Palace Museum and cultural institutions under the Ministry of Culture to launch the winter joint campaign “MUSE Big Player – Team MUSE.” The initiative invites parents to take their children into museums and embark on a holiday journey that combines knowledge exploration and parent-child interaction through visits, challenges, and stamp collection.

Running from January 24 through March 31, the campaign features the theme “Land, Sea, and Air Dinosaur Team,” offering three promotional items—Triceratops, Mosasaurus, and Pterosaur—each exclusively available at participating institutions. Families are encouraged to visit museums and cultural venues across different counties and cities. During the campaign period, participants can use a paper stamp card or log in to the “iMuseum Taiwan” app for digital stamp collection. By collecting stamps from three different institutions, visitors can redeem a Dinosaur Team promotional item. Those using digital stamps can also join an additional prize draw, enhancing children’s sense of participation and achievement.

During the winter break, multiple institutions have also planned interactive programs for families. The National Science and Technology Museum has launched the “Winter Special Mission – Pocket Detective Adventure at the Science Museum,” using task worksheets to guide children in gathering clues and solving challenges while learning scientific concepts through play. The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts presents the “Galloping to Fame – Year of the Horse New Year Print Exhibition,” featuring 90 award-winning works that introduce children to traditional art and festive culture through New Year prints. Meanwhile, the National Palace Museum has organized the “Palace Museum Cute Pets New Year Special,” a family exploration activity that combines multiple exhibitions and interactive checkpoints to guide children in engaging with artifacts and collections through games.

Centered on stamp collection, challenges, and on-site visits, the campaign lowers the threshold for parents planning museum outings and encourages children to observe actively and explore hands-on during participation. Throughout the winter break, parents can accompany their children on cross-institution visits, helping them accumulate knowledge and experiences during travel and turning museums into meaningful spaces for family learning and shared time. More information about the campaign can be found on the official “MUSE Big Player” website.
