  • The half-price discount of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Service extended to May, making travels in Taiwan more convenient.

Starting in May, 64 routes of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Service will be discounted by half, making it simpler to visit well-liked destinations like Kenting and Sun Moon Lake.

Domestic travel subsidies such as free travel for two people traveling together in Taiwan and half-price sightseeing shuttle buses will continue to be implemented until the end of May 2025. The Tourism Bureau anticipates funding 80% of the cost of travel beginning as early as July and the Taiwan touring bus will offer two persons traveling together and one for free program and establish 90 tourism routes for tourists, Taiwan Sightseeing Bus also works with travel agents.

  • Labor Affairs Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government launch Professional Interpreter Training for New Immigrants.

The Labor Affairs Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government and the National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior held the "Professional Interpreter Training for New Immigrants" in late April to foster multilingual skills for providing foreign language interpretation services. The Labor Affairs Bureau will train 120 interpreters who are fluent in Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and English.

These interpreters will be a fresh boost for the service center's ability to connect with visitors and may improve job chances for new immigrants as professional interpreters. Through the training of interpreters, professional interpreters can provide relevant assistance, so that trainees can further familiarize themselves with relevant laws and regulations.

  • “Let’s Fight Scams!” will be live-streamed on May 5th to increase public awareness of fraud prevention

In order to increase awareness of fraud prevention, the National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior is expected to invite Premier (陳建仁), Minister of the Ministry of the Interior, (林右昌) and 40 entertainers to the “Let’s Fight Scams!”live on May 5th.  Fraud methods has become more prevalent in recent years, and 6 common ways that people are defrauded, including fake online auctions, fake investments, cancellation of installment payments, fake police officers, fake love dating, and fake relatives and friends have become common. May 5th will be set as the "National Anti-Fraud Launch Day" to raise public awareness of fraud prevention.

  • Taoyuan City Government set up more interpretation counters to boost service for new immigrants.

The Department of Social Affairs Bureau of the Taoyuan City Government has opened an interpretation service counter on the third floor of the city hall to provide interpreter services for new immigrants. The Department has trained interpreters who work at the service counters. Vietnamese interpretation is available every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, while Indonesian interpretation is available every Thursday and Friday afternoon. With the interpretation service counter, new immigrants will be offered with more convenient multilingual services.
