Many people seek medical devices due to snoring or poor sleep quality, with sleep apnea considered a hidden health risk. During sleep, airway obstruction may cause temporary breathing pauses and lower blood oxygen levels, potentially affecting long-term health. For those needing long-term support, positive airway pressure devices have become common treatment tools.

These devices provide a continuous stream of pressurized air to keep airways open, stabilizing breathing and reducing pauses. Some patients use them after physician evaluation to improve sleep quality and lower associated health risks.

However, with the growing variety of medical devices on the market, consumers should pay attention to legality and proper usage. The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) reminds that positive airway pressure devices are Class II medical devices. Buyers should confirm that products carry a valid medical device license number to ensure proper quality and source.

The TFDA also recommends the “Three Steps to Safe Medical Devices”: first, recognize that these devices are medical equipment; second, check the packaging for a medical device license number; and third, carefully read and follow the instruction manual before use. Product information can be verified through the TFDA's medical device license database to ensure safe purchase and use.
