Pingtung's major summer event is returning with a new attraction. The fifth "2026 Pingtung Summer Carnival" will open on July 4 at Pingtung County Citizens Park. This year, it is partnering with the popular Japanese anime "Crayon Shin-chan" to launch the interactive exhibition "Time Adventure", recreating classic characters and scenes while incorporating local Pingtung elements.
The Pingtung Summer Carnival has become one of southern Taiwan's representative family-friendly summer events. This year's program centers on Carnival Park, Summer Theater, and a themed exhibition, with the event starting about two weeks earlier than in previous years.
Carnival Park will feature large amusement rides, including the return of the pirate ship and six new attractions, adding more entertainment options for visitors.

Family performances will also be a highlight. The opening day will feature Qiaohu and O Theater, followed by Red Nose Circus, YOYO Family, POLI Rescue Heroes, and Bean Theater.
The interactive Crayon Shin-chan exhibition recreates iconic anime scenes while blending local Pingtung culture into an immersive experience. Early-bird tickets are already on sale. The exhibition runs through October 11, while Carnival Park, Summer Theater, and outdoor installations are free to enjoy.
