Immigrants & migrant workers are invited to enjoy the festive vibes as well as stay healthy and safe during holidays

The Lunar New Year is the most important festival in Taiwan. During this period, most people would go out for a walk, visit relatives and friends, and bring the good fortune to the following days.

Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor mentioned that employers are advised to introduce the traditional Chinese New Year culture or arrange days off for foreign nationals, enabling them to enjoy the festive vibes as well as stay healthy and safe during holidays.

Foreigners can get the latest information on the Workforce Development Agency – Transnational Labor Rights Protection Portal, five major festivals in Taiwan (Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival, etc.), and famous scenic spots in Taiwan on The Handbook For Foreign Workers in Taiwan.

For example, the tallest building in Taiwan - Taipei 101 (臺北101大樓), Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area (南投日月潭), the oldest city in Taiwan with a variety of gourmet food - Tainan Castle Town (臺南府城), hot spring resort in Taitung County Chihpen (臺東知本). In addition, Tourism Bureau, M.O.T.C. also provides travel information in different languages for foreign nationals living in Taiwan.

In case of emergency, the 24-hour 1955 Hotline service will still be provided in different languages including Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, English, and Mandarin during the vacation for migrant workers seeking assistance.
