Shen Hao Ting (沈豪挺), a project assistant professor of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, National Chi Nan University, shared the brilliant story of this workshop with the editor of 【Taiwan Immigrants' Global News Network】. The project hopes to use digital scanning technology to create a virtual space in ASEAN Square, and the workshop activities will connect all kinds of touching stories that have happened in ASEAN Square.

Through this workshop, we were able to understand how people in Southeast Asia think of their hometowns, and how the merchants in ASEAN Square reproduced their hometown imagination and eased consumers' homesickness. In addition, through the sharing and scanning of hometown objects, cultural exchanges between ethnic groups are promoted.

Merchants also brought home-style items to participate in the event. Wati from West Java, who has lived in Taiwan for 12 years, has not returned home for seven and a half years.

She brought an aboriginal handicraft bag, which is a representative object of her hometown. Wati hopes to let the people of Taiwan understand the handicrafts of the aboriginal Indonesians. Another person, Linda from East Java, brought a set of clothes that is meaningful to her. She said the batik are wedding dresses, which were made by her mother.

In addition, it is also expected that more participants will be able to break through the barriers of not being able to travel in the epidemic era. Starting from Taichung, the cloud interface will gradually encourage more domestic and foreign online exchanges and dialogues.

In the next series of activities, besides the release of the cloud image space at the end of October, there will also be two live libraries and a results presentation for creators to share their experiences and several upcoming cloud communication activities in the future. Please follow the fan page of the seataichung closely for more information to be released.
