The National Nature Park Administration of the Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with the National Development Council, is implementing the "Integration of Bilingual Elements into National Natural Park Tours and Activities" project in 2024. A series of "English Tour Guide Volunteer Training Courses" and "English Bidirectional Sight Translation (Sight Translation) Courses" will soon be held. These courses are free and open to the public, aiming to enhance the English interpretation skills of individuals passionate about environmental education and guided tours, aligning with the "2030 Bilingual Policy" to improve national foreign language proficiency.
The "English Tour Guide Volunteer Training" course will be held every Sunday afternoon, with experienced English instructor Luis Kung as the lecturer. The course will be conducted in English with Chinese assistance, providing solid training in English tour guide skills.
- The "English Exhibition Tour Guide and On-site Practice Training" course runs from March 16 (Sunday) to May 18 (Sunday), totaling 36 hours.
- The "Qihoushan English Tour Guide and On-site Practice Training" course runs from May 25 (Sunday) to August 3 (Sunday), totaling 44 hours.
The "English Bidirectional Sight Translation (Sight Translation) Course" will be taught by Paul Lee, President of the Kaohsiung Toastmasters Club (KTC). This course helps participants quickly transition between Chinese and English. It is divided into Basic Level and Advanced Level based on students' English proficiency. The course consists of five sessions:
- Session 1: April 19-20
- Session 2: May 24-25
- Session 3: June 14-15
- Session 4: July 26-27
- Session 5: August 9-10
