Taipei City's “citizen continuing education voucher” expands this year. The program, once mainly for residents aged 55 and above, now allows Taipei residents aged 18 and above to register for the lottery. For those seeking further study, a second skill, or lower community college credit fees, eligibility is wider. Online registration runs until May 28, with results scheduled for May 29.

The lottery quota rises from 2,400 to 10,000. Taipei residents aged 18 and above may apply; new students receive NT$2,000 and returning students NT$1,000. Low-income and lower-middle-income residents do not need the lottery and may receive NT$3,000 after online registration. The quota includes 7,000 places for residents aged 55 and above and 3,000 for those aged 18 to 54.

Taipei has community colleges in all 12 administrative districts and 17 teaching sites. Courses cover vocational skills, life skills, interests, and AI applications. Residents can use them to build abilities, develop a second specialty, or make language learning, handicrafts, and health exercise part of daily life.

Residents who receive subsidy eligibility must bring their ID card and winning text message to a Taipei community college to register for this year's autumn semester. Low-income and lower-middle-income residents must also show proof. The subsidy can be used from June 1 to August 21 in stages by regular or waitlisted status. Details are available on the Taipei Lifelong Learning Website.
