According to The Star, in 2012, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, visited the dense jungles of Sabah's Danum Valley.

They walked through areas of the 130-million-year-old thick virgin forest, crossing a 300-meter-long suspension bridge bordered by massive trees, dressed in full adventure gear. They were occasionally greeted by an orang utan or two, as well as a variety of other uncommon animals and birds who were anxious to "meet" the visitors.

As if that weren't enough, the tens of thousands of plant and flower species here support a diverse range of mammals, including Borneo pygmy elephants, macaques, clouded leopards, and orang utans, as well as over 300 bird species. Danum Valley is thus the ideal site for serious international birdwatchers.

Many Malaysians have no idea where Danum Valley is located, let alone which state it is in, which is very embarrassing. Many people are unaware of how beautiful the forest is, and even if they are, they may believe it is unimportant.
