Real estate transactions involve large sums and have become fraud targets. The Land Administration Department of Pingtung County Government and the Pingtung County Land Administration Agent Association are promoting the “dual land administration agent service for registration cases”. People buying, selling, gifting property or handling land registration may each appoint a trusted agent to check contracts, documents and rights, adding protection against fraud and disputes.

People may ask the buyer and seller to appoint separate agents before the transaction. The two agents can review contract terms, registration documents and procedures together. If conditions are unclear, papers seem suspicious or one side pushes for ownership transfer, the process should pause until further checks are completed.

The service may add costs, but property transactions are usually high-value. If fake documents, unclear ownership or improper transfers occur, losses may be much larger. With professional agents on both sides, the deal can be checked from different positions and reduce omissions.

Pingtung County Government also reminds residents to use the “three new land administration anti-fraud tools”: address hiding on type 2 transcripts, instant land record change notifications and designated delivery address. Related rules have also been set for land offices and land administration agents.
