A century-old Japanese machiya has been revitalized into the "0km" Mountain Concept Park, now fully open to the public. The "Woodⁿ: Endless Possibilities" exhibition, focusing on Taiwanese domestic timber, is free to enter, aiming to integrate wood aesthetics into daily life through an approachable and immersive curatorial narrative.
The exhibition is organized by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with Chinmei 0km Shanwu Place. It is co-curated with the Hi!Kidult art curatorial team and Gong Er Architecture. Combining design, woodworking, and lifestyle, the exhibition explores the significance of using domestic timber for carbon reduction, sustainable forestry, and industry preservation through four key dimensions: research, creation, experience, and final product. By telling the stories of producers, the exhibition redefines the role of Taiwanese domestic timber in contemporary life, offering a fresh perspective on its relevance.

Four Major Exhibition Zones to Explore Domestic Timber
The exhibition is housed in the National Timber Promotion and Exhibition Hall within the 0km Shanwu Place Park, a former dormitory cluster of the Forestry Department from the Japanese colonial era. The exhibition cleverly integrates the existing architectural structure, transforming each room into a themed exhibition space. Through these curated spaces, visitors can explore wood education, craftsmanship heritage, timber and bamboo aesthetics, and high-quality domestic timber products, creating a miniature industrial hub.
Timber Naturalism | A Fun and Educational Introduction to Wood
The exhibition begins with "Timber Naturalism," curated by the Hi! Kidult team, which translates scientific forestry knowledge into an engaging experience. Visitors can learn about sustainable forests, tree characteristics, and the diverse applications of wood in industries.
Craftsmen&rsquos Workshop | Discovering the Stories Behind Local Brands
The "Craftsmen&rsquos Workshop" features local wood artisans and brands, showcasing their creative journeys and the stories behind their works. The first batch of exhibitors includes even studio, which infuses humor into functional art The Egg, which explores the versatility of Taiwanese acacia wood, and Tomood, a furniture brand that blends domestic tree species with mixed materials to create furniture and lifestyle products.

Hands-on Experience Zone | Interactive Workshops and Lectures
The "Hands-on Experience Zone" offers interactive activities, DIY workshops, and lectures, connecting domestic timber with everyday life. Visitors can participate in DIY woodcraft sessions, weekend salon talks, artisan demonstrations, hands-on experiences, and even field trips to production sites.
Brand Showcase | Turning Woodcraft into Aesthetic Lifestyle Objects
The final "Brand Showcase" area reinterprets wood and bamboo through contemporary design aesthetics, displaying a range of furniture and everyday objects that preserve the natural warmth of wood while embodying modern lifestyle values.
