From February 2 to February 16, 2025, Taipei City will host the Taipei Lantern Festival, a spectacular event celebrating the Lunar New Year. This year's theme, "Snake of Fortune," symbolizes hope, opportunities, and prosperity, injecting vitality into the city and showcasing a bright future. The main exhibition areas stretch from MRT Ximen Station to Beimen Station, encompassing historic landmarks like Ximen Red House, Zhongshan Hall, and Beimen Plaza, allowing visitors to enjoy both stunning light displays and Taipei's rich cultural heritage.

Highlights of the Festival

The centerpiece of this year's festival, "Fortune Snake Doudou," will be prominently displayed at Zhongshan Hall Plaza, towering at 13 meters tall. Designed by renowned graffiti artist Chi Menghan (Anai), the main lantern features vibrant colors and geometric patterns incorporating local cultural elements. Exhibition Areas

The 2025 Taipei Lantern Festival will feature four major zones for a full immersive experience:

  • Main Lantern Zone: Located at Zhongshan Hall Plaza, showcasing "Fortune Snake Doudou" as the festival's iconic centerpiece for photo opportunities.
  • Ximen Zone: Centered around Ximen Red House Plaza, featuring diverse artistic light installations reflecting the vibrant charm of Ximending.
  • Zhonghua Road Zone: A stretch along Zhonghua Road Section 1, presenting both international and local lantern art in a dazzling "Lantern Avenue of Stars."
  • Beimen Zone: At Beimen Plaza, this area will feature a Blessing Wall and intricate light sculptures to bring good fortune for the year ahead.

Event Schedule and Performances

During the festival, the lantern displays will light up daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while the main lantern show will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In addition, stage performances at Zhongshan Hall Plaza will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, featuring live performances by street artists to create a lively atmosphere
