On October 20, National Immigration Agency (Nantou County Service Center), together with Veterans Affairs Council, R.O.C. of Qingjing Farm, Nantou County Veterans Service Office and Nantou County Renai Township Office holds "New Bless in the Native Land, New Residents' Multicultural and Community Visits".

For new residents in the rural areas, courses such as multicultural and community resource introductions are provided to strengthen the connection between new resident families and local communities, building a harmonious society with mutual appreciation.

This multicultural course specially invites French lecturer Terau Leau to teach the course "Adaptation to Foreign Marriage and Multicultural Sharing".

Terau Leau is a native of Tahitian, and he got married to a Taiwanese dancer Kumu Walis who also loves Tahitian dance. They both resided in Taiwan for many years. Kumu Walis is an aboriginal of the Seediq ethnic group of Taiwan and the lives of this couple represent multiculturalism.

Terau Leau shared his experience in adjusting himself to an international marriage and foreign cultures. He also told everyone how to understand and respect cultural differences.

The couple is currently committed to promoting Tahitian dance culture in Taiwan and is operating "Te Natira'a South Island Tahitian Art Studio". They hope that there will be opportunities to establish Tahitian dance associations in the future and hope more people will be exposed to this kind of dance.

Cai Chong Fu (蔡崇富), director of the National Immigration Agency (Nantou County Service Center), said that Renai Township is the second largest township in Nantou County. To enhance the multicultural learning opportunities for new residents in the rural areas, Nantou County Service Center visited Renai Township with other units to enhance care in the new resident community.
