  • Ministry of Labor urges Migrant Workers not to be Scammed by Faked 1955

According to recent reports from migrant workers, scammers have faked the 1955 hotline and the official LINE (移點通) in order to defraud remittances under the guise of assisting migrant workers in finding new employers. Ministry of Labor will take legal action against those scammers and urges migrant workers not to rely on unknown strangers who promise job connections. The 1955 Labor counseling and Complaint Hotline now provides counseling on labor rights and grievances for employers and migrant workers in Mandarin, English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai, as well as helping migrant workers identify fraud. Ministry of Labor also urges migrant workers to remain calm and dial the 1955 or 165 anti-fraud hotlines to protect their rights if they come across strangers who want personal information or remittances in the name of a legitimate organization.
