The New Taipei City Service Station of the Immigration Agency Holds a Women's Day Event

March 8 marks International Women's Day, and the New Taipei City Service Station of the Immigration Agency's Northern District Affairs Brigade has carefully organized the "Floral Messages for Women's Day" event. Through an engaging flower-themed riddle game, participants can enjoy a relaxed and joyful atmosphere while learning about the significance of Women's Day in various countries. Additionally, the event provides information on women's welfare policies offered by the New Taipei City Government, such as employment assistance, family support services, and maternal and child healthcare. The aim is to help new immigrants and local women make better use of social resources, creating a friendly and supportive environment. The event also encourages all women to take this special day as an opportunity to reward themselves and acknowledge their hard work.

Explore Taiwan on Foot! The Ministry of Education Invites Youth to Embark on an Inspiring Journey

The Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education has officially launched the "2024 Youth Travel in Taiwan – Inspiring Map Exploration Project." From now until March 14, high school (vocational) students and young people aged 18 to 35 across Taiwan can form teams to participate, choosing the group that best suits their journey of exploration. This initiative encourages participants to discover Taiwan's culture and human stories through travel—whether it's a century-old tree in the mountains, legends told in temple courtyards, the final masterpiece of an artisan, or a warm greeting from a local villager. Participating teams must create an "Inspiring Map", documenting their discoveries and experiences throughout their journey. They will carry out their travel plans between June and August. At the end of the project, a final competition will be held, with the top teams having the chance to win a grand prize of up to NT$180,000.

New Entry Policy for South Korea! Electronic Declaration System Implemented from February 24

Starting from February 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM, South Korea will officially implement the electronic entry declaration system (e-Arrival Card). Foreign travelers will no longer need to fill out a paper arrival card upon entry but can instead apply online to streamline the immigration process. Under this new system, travelers who have not applied for K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) or do not possess a Foreign Registration Card or SES automatic clearance qualification can fill out the electronic declaration form for free through South Korea’s electronic entry declaration website three days before entry. The application process is simple and requires passport details, travel plans, and an email address. Once submitted, the process is complete. Upon arrival, travelers do not need to show the electronic declaration form, as the system will automatically match the information, enhancing immigration efficiency.

Don't Throw Away Your Charging Cables! Recycle Them Properly and Get Shopping Credits

With the widespread use of smartphones, many households accumulate a large number of charging cables and old phones but often struggle with how to dispose of them properly. According to the New Taipei City Environmental Protection Bureau, charging cables have an outer layer made of PVC plastic, classifying them as "waste information items." They should not be mixed with general waste or incinerated, as this could harm the environment. To ensure proper recycling, residents can sort their charging cables and hand them over to sanitation teams or recycling trucks for processing. Additionally, 7-Eleven provides a recycling service for electronic waste, including old laptops, used phones, charging cables, and batteries, offering shopping credits in exchange for recycling. The Environmental Protection Bureau encourages citizens to make good use of existing recycling resources, working together to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a greener future.
