Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) announced that registration for its 2026 Winter Camp opens today, December 4, and will remain open until December 11. Students from fifth and sixth grade in elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, vocational schools, and universities are invited to participate in on-site visits and hands-on experiences to better understand high-speed rail operations and behind-the-scenes professional work.

THSR stated that the winter camp is themed “A Day at High-Speed Rail,” allowing participants to enter a simulated train driving cab to learn operational procedures and visit maintenance bases to explore train maintenance and safety operations up close. Through these activities, students can gain insight into the professional roles and operational systems behind rail transportation.

This year’s camp is organized by age group. Elementary, junior high, and senior high school groups will attend one-day programs, while a special two-day, one-night itinerary is designed for university students. The college group will visit the YanChao Main Maintenance Depot, a core THSR facility, to learn about train maintenance, dispatching, and system operations, offering an in-depth look at the core of high-speed rail management.

Participation fees range from NT$500 to NT$1,000 depending on the group. THSR noted that each session will admit 30 participants, with 10 alternates. The list of selected participants will be announced on December 15 on the event website. THSR encourages interested students and parents to take advantage of the registration period and experience the professional world of rail transportation through hands-on learning.
