A major highlight of summer travel is about to begin. The “2026 Penghu International Fireworks Festival” will officially open on May 4 at Guanyinting Park in Magong. This year, the event collaborates with the iconic anime Dragon Ball Z, integrating fireworks, lighting, and themed elements to create a richer and more immersive visual experience beyond traditional displays.

The festival will run through late August, with an increased number of fireworks shows compared to previous years. Regular displays will be held at the main venue, with additional sessions scheduled during the summer vacation period, allowing visitors greater flexibility in planning their trips. Special shows will also take place in outlying islands including Wang’an, Qimei, and Jibei, as well as in Huxi, Xiyu, and Baisha, expanding the viewing experience across multiple locations.

In addition to traditional fireworks, the event will feature drone light shows and stage performances. Fireworks teams from six different countries have been invited to participate, presenting diverse styles and creating an international-level visual spectacle, further enhancing the nighttime tourism appeal.

The venue will also include large-scale Dragon Ball Z installations, themed photo spots, limited-edition merchandise, and stamp-collection activities that connect various attractions across Penghu. With the arrival of the summer travel season, the combination of anime elements and fireworks is expected to draw visitors and reinforce Penghu as a popular summer destination.
