The annual 2026 East Rift Valley Indigenous Food Festival will take place from August 20 to 23 in Taiwan's East Rift Valley. Now in its sixth year, the event adopts the theme “Brewing Tradition,” showcasing Indigenous culture through food, crafts, performances, and eco-tourism experiences.
According to the East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration, the theme reflects the cultural roots and accumulated wisdom of Indigenous communities. Activities will include outdoor banquets, starlit dining experiences, traditional games, craft workshops, cultural performances, and local product markets.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy Indigenous cuisine, try archery, experience traditional fermentation culture, and learn about local lifestyles while surrounded by the natural beauty of eastern Taiwan. The event aims to promote cultural tourism and encourage travelers to explore the unique heritage of Indigenous communities in Hualien and Taitung.
