According to 42 Myanmar citizens forced to work in online gaming firm rescued in Philippines | The Star, according to the Myanmar Embassy in the Philippines, 42 Myanmar citizens who were compelled to labor at an online gambling firm close to Mabalacat City in the Philippine province of Pampanga were rescued.

The Philippine National Police conducted an anti-trafficking operation on the evening of May 4 in response to a tip, and as a result, 1,137 foreigners, including 42 citizens of Myanmar, who had been compelled to work for a significant online gaming corporation, were freed.

The first batch of five men and fifteen women were returned to Myanmar on May 27 thanks to collaboration between the Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Immigration Department.

The Myanmar Embassy is working with the appropriate agencies to arrange for the swift return of the remaining citizens of Myanmar.
