Taiwan-France cultural exchange will take place in Kaohsiung in late May. The 2026 French Lifestyle Festival in Kaohsiung is scheduled from May 22 to 24 at the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts and Metropolitan Park, marking its first move to a new venue. The event has unveiled a Taiwan-France lineup, including Golden Melody Award-winning singer Siri Lee, Taiwan-French jazz vocalist Estelle Perrault, and French musical theater singer John Eyzen.
The program combines music performances, outdoor talks, a French-style market, and interactive activities. This year, it will not focus only on stage shows. A "French village" area will connect the market, talks, and exchange activities. Visitors can encounter French culture through food, reading, sports, and workshops, extending the festival into a space for everyday culture and public exchange.
The "Debate night market" is one of this year's key features. Talks will cover history, music, art, French food, and AI technology, with French creators and writers invited to share their views. African traditional children's stories will also be included, bringing wider cultural experiences into discussions of the French-speaking world.
The French pétanque activity returns this year, along with a new football challenge. A "Bolero dance" workshop will also be introduced for the first time, led by professional dancers. During the festival, Weiwuying will also host a performance by the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
