A Special Moment for Railway Enthusiasts and Nostalgic Travelers!
To promote railway tourism and regional revitalization, the Taiwan Railways Administration will launch a special cruise-style train using the DR2400 diesel railcar, affectionately nicknamed “Blue Baby.” This nostalgic train will run on the Neiwan Line on April 19 and April 26, 2025. We sincerely invite the public to board this classic train that bears witness to the golden era of Taiwan’s railway history—travel through time, explore culture, and enjoy a one-of-a-kind railway journey.
This event will be held over two days, with four train departures per day, each limited to 100 seats, totaling 800 seats. Tickets are priced at NT$699. Passengers who present their ticket on the day of the ride can redeem an exclusive “Prosperity Gift Package” onboard, which includes:
- A Neiwan one-day pass
- A prosperity-themed ticket set
- A name card-style souvenir ticket
- A photo coupon for the driver’s cabin
- One bottle of mineral water
Among these, the most eye-catching is the driver’s cabin photo coupon, allowing passengers to pose next to the driver's seat with a conductor's cap (guided by onsite staff), offering a more immersive experience of the Blue Baby train’s unique charm.
Each event day will feature the following four trips:
- Hsinchu → Zhudong
- Zhudong → Neiwan
- Neiwan → Zhudong
- Zhudong → Hsinchu
This segmented travel format gives passengers more time to enjoy the cultural ambiance of Hsinchu Station, the charming Hakka town atmosphere of Zhudong Station, and the lively local markets near Neiwan Station. The nostalgic journey, combining railway culture, historical exploration, and in-depth travel, allows passengers to relive the classic appeal of Blue Baby and fully experience the authentic vintage beauty of Taiwan’s railways.
