The 2026 Lunar New Year holiday spans nine days, and combined with adjustments to the education system, students are enjoying the longest winter break on record, injecting strong momentum into Taiwan's domestic tourism market. Responding to travel demand during the extended winter break, theme parks across Taiwan have jointly launched the “Taiwan Fun Parks +1, Let's Go Now” marketing campaign, inviting students, families, and seniors to make the most of the holiday by revisiting theme parks and creating new memories.

The Tourism Administration under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications noted that long holiday periods allow for greater flexibility in travel planning. Visitors no longer need to rush through itineraries, but can instead enjoy more relaxed theme park trips. Whether traveling with family or reconnecting with old classmates, theme parks provide opportunities to rediscover youthful memories and emotional connections.

To meet consumers' expectations for high-value travel experiences, theme parks have rolled out a range of winter promotions, including ticket discounts, free admission, buy-one-get-one offers, and cross-park packages. Operators hope these incentives will lower travel barriers, attract more visitors, and extend length of stay.

Beyond rides and attractions, winter is also a prime season for flower viewing and ecological exploration. Many parks combine cherry blossom festivals, forest experiences, animal interactions, and hands-on activities, ensuring trips are not only entertaining but also educational, particularly appealing to families.

The Tourism Administration also reminded travelers that to ease traffic congestion and support environmental sustainability, many theme parks have integrated public transportation options, including Taiwan Tourist Shuttle services, high-speed rail, and intercity buses, along with joint ticket offers. Visitors can enjoy convenient access and ticket discounts by using public transport. As the extended winter break unfolds, the public is encouraged to gather family and friends and set off on a theme park journey to create unforgettable memories in 2026.During the winter break, theme parks become popular destinations for families and friends.
