According to a report released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in December 2024, India attracted over $96 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2024, surpassing China and the United States for the first time to become the world's largest recipient of foreign investment. This data highlights India as a new focal point for global investors.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized at an economic forum that India's success stems from a series of economic reforms and policy initiatives, including relaxed foreign investment restrictions, improved business conditions, and enhanced infrastructure development. Key sectors such as manufacturing, technology, and green energy have attracted substantial investments from multinational corporations. The technology sector is one of the primary areas attracting foreign investment in India. The technology sector is one of the main areas driving FDI into India. Major tech giants from the United States and Europe, including Apple, Google, and Microsoft, have established India as a critical hub for global R&D and manufacturing. Additionally, with the growing demand for renewable energy worldwide, India's renewable energy sector, including solar and wind projects, has secured significant foreign investments.

However, India still faces challenges, such as bridging the economic gap between urban and rural areas and improving basic education and vocational training to support its rapidly growing manufacturing and service industries. Experts suggest that if India effectively addresses these issues, it could emerge as a major engine of global economic growth within the next decade.
