On July 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 21 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 21 new cases, 18 are domestic and the other three are imported.

The CECC pointed out that of the 18 domestic cases, 8 are men and the other 10 are women, aged between under 5 to 69 years old. The CECC also announced three deaths today.

Regarding those domestic cases, Taipei City reported the most cases, at 12, and New Taipei City had the second highest number, at 6.
Regarding the 3 deaths announced today, they were two men and one woman between 60 and 79 years old.
Regarding the three new imported cases, Case #15252 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s. He returned to Taiwan from Thailand on June 23.
Case #15253 is an over 20-year-old fisherman from Indonesia. He traveled to Taiwan from Indonesia on May 10.
Case #15254 is a Taiwanese female in her teens. She returned to Taiwan from the US on July 6.

The CECC reported that a total of 1,541,974 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 1,525,372. Of the 15,149 confirmed cases, 1,193 are imported; 13,903 are domestic. There have been a cumulative total of 718 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 718 deaths, 710 are domestic cases and the other 8 are imported.
The CECC reminds the public to pay attention to personal hygiene, to reducing unnecessary outings, and to avoid crowded areas especially high-risk areas. Cooperating and following these epidemic prevention guidelines will keep everyone safe.
