On July 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 11 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 11 new cases, 10 are domestic and the other one is imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that of the 10 domestic cases (of whom, five tested positive while they were in home isolation or completed their isolation period), seven are men and the other three are women, aged between 20 to 79 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between July 19 and July 25, 2021. Regarding those domestic cases, Taipei City reported the most cases at 4, followed by New Taipei City and Taoyuan City with 3 cases each.

Regarding the new imported cases, Case #15688 is a Taiwanese male in his 50s. He boarded a vessel and headed out to sea on June 22. The ship arrived in Taiwan on July 20. The Taiwanese man tested negative for COVID-19. He was quarantined at a group quarantine facility arranged by the health authority because two persons (Case #15576 and Case #15581) aboard the vessel were diagnosed with COVID-19. He developed an itchy throat on July 25. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on July 26.

The CECC reported that a total of 1,924,661 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 1,907,614. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 15,582 cases. Of the 15,582 confirmed cases, 1,257 are imported; 14,272 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 108 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 786 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 786 deaths, 778 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases
