On September 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced eight new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the eight new cases, one is domestic and the other seven are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic case, Case #16286 is an over 20-year-old female. She took a COVID-19 test due to work requirements on September 22. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 24.

Regarding the seven new imported cases, they are five men and two women, aged between under 10 to 69 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Belize, the UK, the Philippines (three cases), the US, and Japan. They arrived between September 11 and September 22.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,241,201 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,223,684. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,176 cases. Of the 16,176 confirmed cases, 1,543 are imported; 14,579 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 841 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 841 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
