According to Palace declares March 18 special non-working day in Masbate | Inquirer News, Masbate province will have a special holiday on March 18 to commemorate the 122nd anniversary of its creation, according Malacañang.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin put his signature to the holiday proclamation on February 23. On March 15th, a copy of the proclamation was published on the Masbate Province Information Office's social media website.

Proclamation No. 163 declared that it was only suitable and reasonable to offer the Province of Masbate's residents the chance to fully commemorate and take part in the occasion with the required festivities.

According to Palace declares March 18 special non-working day in Masbate | Inquirer News, on March 18, 1901, the Philippine Commission Act 105 ordered Masbate province to be established, with Bonifacio Serrano serving as the first civil governor.
