Tainan has expanded its Little Yellow Bus service with the launch of Green 33 and Green 34, increasing the network to 46 routes covering all 31 administrative districts. The expansion improves public transport access in remote areas, especially for residents of Xinshi and Xinhua.
Introduced in 2019, the Little Yellow Bus replaces large buses on low-demand routes with taxis. The service has carried more than 500,000 passengers and helps residents travel for medical visits, shopping and school.
Green 33 connects several communities in Xinshi with markets, district offices, hospitals and other public transport services. Green 34, Tainan's first circular Little Yellow Bus route, serves communities including Zhiyi, Shanzijiao and Zhuzijiao while linking Xinhua Old Street, Xinhua Station and medical facilities.
Fares are the same as regular city buses. Passengers may ride scheduled services or book in advance, while Senior Citizen Cards and Disability Cards are accepted for free rides.
The expanded network offers residents in remote communities more convenient transportation choices for daily travel.
