According to CECC, on June 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 214 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 214 new cases, 211 are indigenous and the other three are imported. The CECC also announced 26 deaths today.
The CECC pointed out that of the 211 indigenous cases, 106 are men and the other 105 are women, aged between under 10 to 99 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between May 21 and June 6, 2021. Regarding those indigenous cases, New Taipei City reported most cases, at 82, and Taipei City had the second highest number, at 60. Miaoli County reported 45 cases; Changhua County reported 8; Hsinchu City, Taoyuan City, Penghu County and Keelung City reported 3 each; Yilan County, Chiayi County, Pingtung County and Hsinchu County reported 1 each.
Regarding the 26 deaths announced today, they were 20 men and six women between 50 and 99 years old.

Regarding the three new imported cases, Case #11500 and Case #11501 are two Filipino men in their 40s and 20s, respectively. They traveled to Taiwan from the Philippines on May 15. They underwent self-paid COVID-19 tests before completing the self-health management period on June 5. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on June 7.
Case #11052 is a Taiwanese man in his 40s. He returned to Taiwan from India on June 5. After arrival, he was quarantined in a group quarantine facility, and was then tested for COVID-19. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on June 7.

The CECC reported that a total of 671,160 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 648,841. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 11,491 cases. Of the 11,491 confirmed cases, 1,148 are imported; 10,290 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated; and 49 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. Of the confirmed cases, there have been 260 deaths.
