Developed through collaboration between state leaders and education officials, the program highlights women from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous and Latina communities, as well as influential local figures. Lessons focus not only on historical milestones but also on women's impact in fields such as science, politics, the arts and social movements, addressing long-standing gaps in traditional curricula.

Education officials said the initiative is designed to encourage critical thinking and multiple perspectives, helping students recognize that history is shaped by people of different genders, cultures and communities.
