Guangao Mountain Hut, located within Yushan National Park, officially began operations on December 1. The Yushan National Park Headquarters stated that after gathering feedback during its trial operation, the hut has upgraded its facilities and services to provide a safer and more comfortable environment for hikers.

The number of beds has increased from 28 during the trial phase to 42 to meet accommodation demand during peak hiking seasons. A new “Knowledge Recharge Station” has also been introduced, featuring nearly 70 books related to mountaineering, nature, and ecology, along with clip-on reading lamps available for nighttime use.A shared reading area offers books related to mountaineering and nature. In response to hikers’ feedback regarding noise from plastic mattress covers, the park has replaced them with waterproof bed covers to improve sleep quality. An automated external defibrillator (AED) has also been installed to enhance emergency response capabilities and mountain safety.

A limited-edition giveaway is available for hikers who complete park entry applications and stay overnight at Guangao Mountain Hut starting immediately. Supplies are limited while stocks last.
