Now in its 19th year, the 2025 Tainan Qigu Seafood Festival will be held from July 5 to August 17. Highlighted events include the &ldquoClam Digging Experience at the Tourist Clam Garden,&rdquo the themed one-day tour &ldquoQigu GO Together,&rdquo the &ldquoQigu Seven Treasures Feast,&rdquo and the &ldquoLocal Agricultural and Fishery Product Fair.&rdquo These attractions are expected to once again draw crowds of visitors to Qigu.
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che attended the press conference and noted that the Qigu Seafood Festival has grown from the original "Qigu Seafood Street" to become one of the city's iconic summer events. He emphasized that registration is open to the public and that even the mayor has no privileges, encouraging everyone to participate enthusiastically.
According to the Tourism Bureau, the family-favorite "Clam Digging Experience" will be held on July 5, 6, 19, and 20, with four sessions in total, each limited to 3,500 participants. Guests who stay at a legal accommodation in Tainan in June or July and present a receipt can gain free entry for two people to the clam-digging event.
The &ldquoQigu GO Together&rdquo one-day tour includes four themed routes, offered at a discounted price of NT$850 per person (original price NT$1,300). Online registration for both the clam-digging experience and day tour opens at 9:00 a.m. on June 20.
The annual highlight, the "Qigu Seven Treasures Feast," will be held on August 10 at Qigu Salt Mountain with 120 banquet tables. Table reservations open online via ibon at 9:00 a.m. on July 15, priced at NT$6,500 per table, with a one-table limit per reservation. Master Chef Chen Zhendong will lead the banquet, featuring the seven treasures of Qigu: milkfish, mullet, tilapia, grouper, white shrimp, clams, and oysters. Each table will also receive a NT$500 bonus gift set of local seafood, including milkfish belly, milkfish balls, sausages, clams, and the increasingly popular Taiwan tilapia, recently showcased at the Seoul International Food Exhibition.

Ticket holders for the clam-digging event can also enjoy free rides on the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Route 98 (Fucheng-Taijiang Line), visiting attractions such as the Anping Historic Sites and Taijiang National Park, with transfers available to reach the Six Holes Wharf for clam digging.
During the four main activity days, about 20 stalls selling local specialties will be available at the venue. Organized by the Qigu District Office, these include local shops and agricultural/fishery vendors, allowing visitors to enjoy seafood tastings and purchase souvenirs.
This year&rsquos festival also features discounts from 22 partnered businesses in Qigu, including accommodations, attractions, restaurants, and tour operators. From July 1 to August 31, festival ticket holders can enjoy various promotions depending on each store&rsquos offer.
