When Mohamad Orfali was a child, his favorite meal was breakfast. In his home in Aleppo, Syria, his grandfather would prepare "Treet Bel Laban"—a meatball omelet placed on garlic yogurt, served with hot bread. "I have many memories of food," Orfali said, "but I think this is the best." For Orfali, food and family have always been intertwined. Now, more than ever, this connection is significant as he runs Orfali Bros Bistro in Dubai with his two brothers. Their menu, which debuted in 2021, is a love letter to their Syrian roots and the culinary traditions they grew up with, blending contemporary Arab and Mediterranean flavors.

BURNOUT SYNDROMES, known for performing multiple theme songs for "Haikyu!!", will debut in Taiwan on July 21 at the OhBear Rock Music Festival at the Taipei Music Center. The band will recreate classics and deliver passionate music, allowing fans to reminisce. They will perform several classic "Haikyu!!" theme songs, including "FLY HIGH!!", "Hikari Are", and "PHOENIX", which document Karasuno High School's passionate journey overcoming challenges. The band members are excited about their first performance in Taiwan and hope to captivate the audience with their music's charm. One of the bistro's signature dishes: "Umami Eclair" with porcini emulsion and marmite, fermented quince glaze, cacao nibs, and beef prosciutto. /Orfali Bros Bistr

Orfali left Syria in 2006 and moved to Dubai a year later, with his brothers following. "We started as three brothers, but now my family is very large—we have 53 people," he said, explaining that he considers his restaurant staff as his extended family. "Different nationalities, different skin colors, different languages, different accents. That's what I love. That's the charm of Orfali Bros." This multiculturalism reflects the UAE's diversity, where over 90% of the population are non-Emiratis. Orfali Bros Bistro offers "Dubai cuisine"—a fusion of global culinary traditions adjusted for international palates.
