The Renwu Household Registration Office in Kaohsiung City has launched a free craft course titled "Twist into Good Mood - Chenille Stick Healing Craft Time", integrating local resources to plan a soothing hands-on experience. The program invites new immigrants and their family members to join, offering an activity choice that combines both leisure and learning in everyday life.
The event is scheduled for the morning of May 19 at the meeting room of the household registration office on Zhongzheng Road in Renwu District. Under the guidance of instructors, participants will use chenille sticks to create handmade works. The course focuses on practical operation, starting from basic shapes and extending into simple variations, allowing participants to gradually complete their pieces while learning how to combine colors and forms.
The course is free of charge and limited to 30 participants, with registration closing once all places are filled. In addition to the enjoyment of craft-making, the course learning hours may also serve as one of the supporting documents for new immigrants applying for naturalization, giving the program both educational and practical value. Those interested may call 07-3711328 ext 2037 for registration and further information.
By arranging a craft course of this kind, the office is not only providing an opportunity for stress relief and learning, but also helping participants build connections through interaction during the activity. For people trying handicrafts for the first time, the process from handling materials to finishing a piece can also build a sense of achievement, encourage continued participation, and bring more variety and fresh experiences into daily life.
