Welcoming early summer, business districts across New Taipei City have carefully planned a series of events to invite the public to explore local culture in depth. First to kick off is the Jiufen Business District, which is holding the &ldquoJiufen Hospitality Festival&rdquo from now until May 31. The event combines lantern night tours, qipao (cheongsam) experiences, and DIY lantern making, creating the nation&rsquos only mountain lantern walking experience. Guided by local historians, visitors can stroll through narrow alleys and soak in the nostalgic charm. The event takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the period. Shoppers who spend NT$500 or more at participating tea houses can redeem a DIY Lantern Experience Ticket. Next, on June 7, the Ruifang Business District will host the &ldquoRuifang Old Street Outdoor Film Festival,&rdquo screening films related to mining culture along the historic street, bringing back memories of the mining era. The event features a nostalgic market, check-in prize draws, and performances by street artists and Ruifang Vocational High School's honor guard, creating a festive retro atmosphere. At the same time, the area around Ruifang Train Station will hold the &ldquo100 Years of Ruifang Glory Exhibition,&rdquo taking visitors on a journey through historical memories. In 2024, the Ruifang Old Street Business District hosted the Ruifang Old Street Outdoor Film Festival (This image provided by Ruifang Old Street Business District / Photo: Screenshot from New Taipei City Government website)In 2024, the Ruifang Old Street Business District hosted the Ruifang Old Street Outdoor Film Festival (This image provided by Ruifang Old Street Business District / Photo: Screenshot from New Taipei City Government website)
