Taiwan will soon implement a new entry procedure. Currently, foreign travelers can choose between a paper and an online version of the Arrival Card. To improve border clearance efficiency, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) introduced a new electronic Arrival Card interface (Taiwan Arrival Card, or TWAC) on May 5, 2025. It has received positive feedback and will become mandatory on October 1, when the paper version will be discontinued.

Travelers must fill out the TWAC within three days before arriving in Taiwan by visiting the NIA TWAC website. According to the NIA, digitization is a global trend. The new TWAC platform is more intuitive, user-friendly, and streamlined, with added functions for editing and reviewing submitted information.

Travelers can complete the form in Chinese or English, with field descriptions also provided in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian. Uploading a photo of the passport bio page allows automatic data entry, speeding up the process.

For families or groups, one person can fill in information for up to 16 travelers. After verifying their email address, a confirmation will be sent upon successful submission. Upon arrival, passport control will automatically retrieve the TWAC data.

Taiwan is renowned for its majestic natural scenery and diverse culture. To help global travelers enjoy the island&rsquos beauty and culinary delights, pre-filling the TWAC ensures smoother entry.

Air and sea carriers have also posted TWAC QR code links at check-in counters for passengers to scan and complete the form. Those who haven&rsquot submitted beforehand must do so before passport inspection.
