Opened in 2022, the Longtian Cultural Heritage Education Park-hosted by the NTU Archaeological Team-is Taiwan&rsquos first education park centered on cultural heritage. It preserves historic structures like the sugar-salt railway, warehouses, and halls. The park spans 1.7 hectares with 11 buildings, adjacent to Longtian Station and various natural and cultural sites, making it the cultural and tourist hub of Guantian District.

Exhibition zones integrate the history of the Chianan Canal and include the &ldquoCanal Academy,&rdquo &ldquoImmersive Theatre,&rdquo and &ldquoInteractive Playground.&rdquo Through sound art and multimedia interaction, the park teaches the history of water engineering playfully. The highlight is the &ldquoChianan Canal Landscape Theatre,&rdquo which recreates the majestic century-old irrigation system through lights, sound, and archival materials.

The &ldquoWater View Mound Play&rdquo bouncing installation is inspired by Wushantou Reservoir, offering children a blend of play and education. There&rsquos also a family sandpit and anthropomorphic archaeology tool characters, allowing kids to role-play as little archaeologists and explore cultural assets. Seamlessly combining nature, architecture, and pastoral scenery, the park sets a new standard for an outdoor, wall-less museum&mdashperfect for family outings and culturally enriching weekend fun.
