In today's high-pressure lifestyle marked by long working hours and constant use of digital devices, many young people face unseen physical and emotional stress. To respond to these needs, the Taipei City Government Department of Youth Affairs continues to develop its “Youth Academy” initiative and has designated “Ten Strengths for Youth” as the core framework for 2026, integrating physical and mental health, life skills, and digital applications.

The Department noted that Youth Academy has already delivered more than 100 courses and attracted significant attention and participation. The concept of “Ten Strengths,” a play on the phrase “real strength,” covers topics such as financial literacy, travel, digital applications, life skills, emotional awareness, communication, creative crafts, stress-relief exercise, and sports viewing.

The series begins in February, with the first theme titled “Exercise Power,” centered on awakening the body and rediscovering the joy of sweating. Young people are encouraged to release negative emotions and relieve stress through movement, without pressure to perform or compete.

The Exercise Power courses will run from February to November, held on the second Thursday evening of each month. Activities include K-POP dance, Pilates, stretching and relaxation, indoor rock climbing, and introductory Muay Thai, helping participants understand their body rhythms, release stress, and develop sustainable exercise habits.

The Department emphasized that there is no need to aim to become an athlete; taking the first step is already a form of self-care. Courses require advance registration and have limited availability.
