On July 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 24 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 24 new cases, 18 are domestic and the other six are imported. The CECC also announced 4 deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that of the 18 domestic cases, 13 are men and the other 5 are women, aged between 20 to 89 years old.
Regarding those domestic cases, Taipei City reported the most cases, at 7, and New Taipei City had the second-highest number, at 6. Keelung City reported 3 cases, and Taoyuan City reported 2 cases.

Regarding the 4 deaths announced today, they were one man and three women between 60 and 79 years old.
Regarding the 6 imported cases, they were four men and two women between under 10 and 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Myanmar, the US (3 cases), and Indonesia (2 cases), respectively. They arrived in Taiwan between July 5 and July 19.
Of the 15,453 confirmed cases in Taiwan, 1,241 are imported; 14,159 are domestic. There have been a cumulative total of 773 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 773 deaths, 765 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases.

The CECC reminds the public to pay attention to personal hygiene, to reducing unnecessary outings, and to avoid crowded areas especially high-risk areas. Cooperating and following these epidemic prevention guidelines will keep everyone safe.
