To encourage students to promote healthy lifestyles through creativity, Chiayi County's Public Health Bureau has launched the 2026 AI Creative Contest for Tobacco- and Betel Nut-Free Awareness. The competition is open to senior high school, vocational school and college students, with applications accepted through July 3. Participants are invited to use AI-generated images, short videos and music to spread health messages, with top prizes reaching NT$5,000 in gift vouchers. Winners are expected to be announced in August.

The bureau noted that e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products have become increasingly popular among young people due to their modern appearance and strong online presence. Meanwhile, betel nut consumption remains closely associated with oral cancer and other health concerns. Organizers hope the contest will help students better understand these risks and adopt healthier lifestyles.

The competition includes three categories: AI image creation, AI short-video production and AI theme-song creation. The image category accepts memes and posters, with participation prizes and top awards worth up to NT$3,000. The short-video and theme-song categories will each award a grand prize of NT$5,000, along with several participation prizes.

Officials said the contest aims to transform students from passive recipients of health information into active creators. Outstanding works will be showcased through social media platforms, school campaigns and future public health education activities to further spread tobacco- and betel nut-free messages.
