People with disabilities applying for vehicle license tax exemption no longer need to visit a tax office in person. Through MyData, eligible applicants can complete the process online, including those who need to reapply after changing their household registration.
The main benefit is less paperwork and fewer trips to government offices. After identity verification and data authorization, information needed for the application can be retrieved online, eliminating the need to separately prepare paper documents for household registration, disability status, vehicle registration and driver's license records.
Mr. Lo, who moved his household registration from Taoyuan City to Taipei City, recently needed to reapply for the exemption. He initially expected to prepare the documents again and visit the tax office, but instead completed the application from home through MyData, saving travel time and paperwork.
Fourteen local governments currently provide the service, including Keelung City, Taipei City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Yilan County and Hualien County. Eligible applicants who need to reapply after changing household registration now have an online option.
To apply, applicants complete identity verification and authorize data access, then follow the online process for vehicle license tax exemption for people with disabilities. Information is automatically retrieved, reducing paper documents and trips between agencies so the application can be completed at home.
