On July 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, 中央流行疫情指揮中心) announced 50 new confirmed cases of Covid-19. Of the 50 new cases, 47 are local, and the other 3 are imported. The CECC also announced 13 deaths today.
The CECC pointed out that of the 47 local cases, (21 cases tested positive either during or after home quarantine), 22 are men and 25 are women, aged between under 5 to over 90 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between June 22 and June 30, 2021. Of these local cases, New Taipei City reported the most cases, at 20, and Taipei City had 18 cases. Taoyuan City reported 5 cases, Kaohsiung City reported 2 cases, and Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County reported 1 case each. 28 cases already know the source of infection, 3 cases with unknown source, and 16 are under investigation. Covid-19 tests are still in progress.
The CECC said that of the 13 new deaths, 7 are men, and 6 are women, with ages ranging from 50 to over 80 years old.

The CECC said that the 3 new confirmed cases today were imported. Case #14926 and Case #14927 are two male fishermen from Indonesia, who are in their 30s and 20s, respectively. Case #14941 is a 30 plus year old male fisherman from the Philippines who travelled to Taiwan on May 13.
The CECC reported that a total of 1,379,630 cases related to Covid-19 have been reported in Taiwan of which 1,363,405 cases have been ruled out and 14,853 were confirmed positive. Since 2020, there are a total of 661 Covid-19 deaths, of which 653 are local cases.
The CECC once again called on the public to implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette, wearing face masks, and to reduce unnecessary travel, activities or gatherings, and to avoid crowded places or areas with a high risk of infection. Everyone should take the initiative to follow epidemic prevention measures and to safeguard the community.
