Household administration services to go paperless from July 1
The era of paperless office has come! Since July 1, all household registration administration offices have launched eco-friendly services for the public. Citizens can directly sign their names on a digital board to request services. It is estimated that about 22.35 million sheets of paper can be saved each year, which is equivalent to 2,682 trees. At the same time, going paperless can save about 111.75 million NTD of the cost of document production, helping save energy and reduce carbon emission.
The Ministry of the Interior stated that in the past, citizens had to sign their names on a piece of paper. However, since July 1, 2020, the concept of paperless office has been promoted. Citizens only need to sign up on a digital board and scan and hand in their documents so that they'll be able to check it online and avoid long lines.
