SD Biosensor, a South Korean company, is offering to donate 10,000 units of test kits for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) worth USD100,000 to the Philippines.

This was disclosed on Wednesday to the Philippines News Agency by Sanghoon Ko, director general of Korea Trade (KOTRA), a South Korean government agency responsible for the promotion of trade and investment between the Philippines and South Korea.

Based on KOTRA’s letter dated July 1, 2020 to Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the test kits to be donated are Standard Q Covid-19 Combo and Standard Q Covid-19 Ag.

Ko said delivery of the test kits will be within this month as soon as the donation will be accepted by the DOH.

SD Biosensor is one of South Korea’s leading healthcare companies using advanced and innovative technology.

South Korea has been extending humanitarian aid to the Philippines during calamities for the past seven decades as gesture of appreciation to the Philippines for sending troops during the Korean War in the 1950s.

Since February this year, South Korea has provided over USD5 million (PHP250 million) worth of humanitarian assistance to the Philippines to help combat the deadly Covid-19.
