CSIC Celebrates Spring Festival With Hundreds of Overseas Students
The Chung Shan Industrial & Commercial School (hereinafter the "CSIC") in Kaohsiung has 688 overseas students, so the school organizes an ancestor worshipping Spring Festival activity for its overseas students. Vice-Chairman of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (abbreviated to OCAC), Gao Jianzhi, and Division Chief Chen Youjing serve as the representatives of leading the overseas students from 6 countries to worship ancestors. Overseas students wear local costumes and bring ethnic dance and singing performances that totally perk up the event. The OCAC also gives away red envelops for this early Spring Festival.
Gao Jianzhi leads the schools handling cooperative education programs and the representatives of enterprises including President of the Cheng Shiu University, Gong Ruiying, CSIC's president, Lin Zhaoyi, the representatives of the Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., Walsin, Walton Advanced Engineering Inc., and the Gloria Outlets to worship towards the East with the overseas students from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia at the ancestor worshipping ceremony which is held at the Cueiheng court.
Lin Zhaoyi indicates that the school has 688 overseas students that are studying Computer Science and Electronics, of which 348 are from Vietnam, 248 are from Indonesia, and there are 6 enterprises of Electronics or Computer Science industries. are handling cooperative education programs.
Lin Zhaoyi points out that overseas students left their homes to study in Taiwan and have different languages and customs. Therefore, the school has assisted them in spiritual and life counseling. Most of the students have well adapted to the school and the work and have a proper learning attitude. Whether they will stay in Taiwan or will return to their home countries, they will all have good achievements in the future.
