2021 Culture Festival in New Taipei City starts on April 1st
The Cultural Affairs Department of New Taipei City Government organized a “2021 Culture Festival in New Taipei City”(新北市多元文化節), to help new immigrants assimilate into Taiwan culture. The festival starts on April 1st and ends on April 30th. This year, the theme of the festival is “Who lives in New Taipei City?” New immigrants are invited to record their cultural stories, and the audio stories will be shared with the public during the festival. Moreover, this year, music is added as a new feature, the festival will collect Southeast Asian songs.
Cultural Affairs Department hopes to present the multicultural side of New Taipei City. On April 24, the festival will conduct a “Sound Map Exhibition” activity. The exhibition presents different cultural audio stories shared by foreigners who are living in New Taipei City. People are able to listen to these fascinating stories through earphones during this event.
New Taipei city is also organizing different activities to help the public learn about different cultures. There will be an “Indian Festival”(印度文化節) on April 24, at the Sanchong Air Force Military kindred Village No.1. The Indian Festival will contain Indian dance performances, an Indian market, and a yoga workshop.
The Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology will present an exhibition related to the Thai culture (多樣泰－泰國文化特展). And the exhibition will end on September 5.
The Tamsui Historical Museum will present a “Global Instrument Exhibition” (英日快閃時空小徑、世界樂器體驗) starting from April 24.
And the New Taipei City Library will conduct an activity called “New Immigrant storytelling”(新住民媽媽說故事). The activity will be held on April 11 and April 25, 11 a.m.
