Taitung to host Taiwan-Philippines art exchange starting May 30
How long have you not explored in an exhibition? The "Since Time Immemorial Between Fang and the Philippines: Taiwan-Philippines Art Exchange Union Exhibition" will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 30, 2020, on the first floor of the Art Center, Taitung County Cultural Affairs Department. The National Taitung University (NTTU) Orchestra will also perform for the event, inviting all citizens in Taitung.
To revitalize arts and cultural activities greatly impacted by the pandemic crisis, the county invites all Taitung citizens to participate in the exhibition to relax during this hard time, County Mayor Rao Ching-ling (饒慶鈴) stated.
Director of the Cultural Affairs Department, Zhong Qingbai (鍾青柏), pointed out that although the virus outbreak has brought great impacts, many artists will still participate in the exhibition, including Menchu Pascual, whose artworks combine Realism and Impressionism, and Grace Javier Alfonso, who is a painter, a sculptor, and also a multi-media artist. Artist Fang Xiaorong (方曉蓉) is also invited to exhibit her artworks which are unique and exquisite. Professor Lin Yongfa (林永發), who is the dean of the College of Humanities, NTTU, is another exhibitor skilled in ink wash painting. Every individual who is interested in arts and cultural events is welcome to explore this "Taiwan-Philippines Art Exchange Union Exhibition".
